Revere Bank Supports Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund
Revere Bank is proud to support the Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund, a fund established in memory of Laura LeMire who served as Chair of the Engineering Department at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). The scholarships will be awarded to qualified CCBC students pursuing STEM degrees.
Ms. LeMire was a respected college faculty member, leader and administrator who lost her battle with an aggressive form of cancer in August of 2017. She was proud of her work in helping women and minorities enroll in STEM studies at CCBC, graduate with STEM degrees and acquire STEM-related employment.
“Revere Bank’s contribution will allow CCBC to provide under-served and low-income students who want to pursue STEM-related fields with both financial and academic support,” said Ken Westary, VP of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, CCBC Foundation.
“We are pleased to contribute to the Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund,” said Ken Cook, co-president and CEO of Revere Bank. “Laura was a steadfast supporter and friend of Revere Bank. In turn, we are proud to honor her commitment to her students and STEM education and hope our contribution to the scholarship fund will make a real difference in the lives of the student recipients.”
The Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund will further the educational aspirations of women and the under represented in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). These students will build a pathway to success for future employment. Donations to the Laura E. LeMire STEM Scholarship Fund can be made here: www.ccbcmd.edu/lauraslegacy.
“This scholarship fund is a tribute to Laura’s unwavering focus on helping women and minorities achieve success in STEM fields,” said Drew Flott, Revere Bank co-president and CEO. “She is missed greatly but we know her legacy and commitment to education will live on through this fund.”
