Revere Bank Sponsors Kentlands/Lakelands 5K

Revere Bank is a silver sponsor of the 25th annual Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run, Walk and Kids Fun Runs on Saturday, September 1. As the largest 5K race in Montgomery County, the event provides an opportunity for runners and walkers, local businesses and volunteers to join together to support local charities and enjoy one another’s company. Revere Bank Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager Sharon Cantrell has been working with the Kentlands Community Foundation, the host of the race, as the program liaison on the board of directors to contribute to the betterment of the community and the success of the event.

The Kentlands Community Foundation donates a portion of the event’s proceeds to assist those in need and to continue the 5K race’s mission of building community. This year’s beneficiaries include the City of Gaithersburg’s Dolores C. Sawyer Camp Scholarship fund, which provides finances to help underprivileged youth attend camp; The Dwelling Place Inc., a nonprofit organization that sustains homeless families in Montgomery County; Mercy Health Clinic, a free clinic that serves uninsured individuals in Montgomery County; and Maryland Senior Olympics.

On the day of the race, participants will run or walk through the neighborhoods of Lakelands and Kentlands while local bands play music to increase their motivation. The runners and walkers will cross the finish line on Main Street and proceed to the Market Square Plaza for the post-race Merchant’s Expo. During these festivities, the top finishers and teams will receive monetary prizes in the awards ceremony. The participants will also have a chance to win a raffle in which local businesses have donated prizes. To partake in the race, click here to register online up to four days before the event.
