Revere Bank Sponsors First Community Impact Awards at the Laurel Historical Society Gala
Laurel, MD (April 27, 2017) – Revere Bank was a proud sponsor of the Community Impact Awards, which were presented at the annual Laurel Historical Society Gala on April 22. The Awards celebrated at the “Great Gala” acknowledged individuals, businesses and organizations for their influence on the community. Revere Bank’s Alicia Fields is on the society’s board and served on this year’s Gala Committee, which developed the idea to honor community member Marcus Colbert. Colbert was a beloved neighbor and Department of Public Works employee, who was killed in January while working for the City of Laurel. He was honored with a memorial brick on the walking path to the Laurel Museum entrance.
It was also the inaugural year of the Community Impact Awards. The Laurel Historical Society presented awards to Klingbeil Capital Management/C Street Flats (Corporate Community Contributor), More than Java Café (Small Business Contributor) and the American Legion Post 60 (Nonprofit Contributor). These awards were created to give recognition to individuals, businesses and organizations that contribute to the Laurel community with significant impact.
