To increase support for local charities, Revere Bank has implemented monthly “jean day” fundraisers. On the fourth Friday of each month employees who donate $5 or more towards the charity are allowed to wear jeans to work. A different charity will be chosen each quarter. This quarter’s jean day fundraising will benefit Camp Attaway.
Revere Senior Vice President Ken Williams has been involved in Camp Attaway since 2007 – he is currently president of the camp’s board. Camp Attaway was designed to provide a fun summer camp experience for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Camp Attaway offers a variety of activities designed to ensure a safe, therapeutic, and most importantly, fun-filled days for children, as well as a weekly support and education group for their parents. Activities include swimming, sports, cooperative games, rock climbing, arts & crafts, nature and drama. All camp programming is designed for campers to succeed, and no one is turned away for an inability to pay.
“My job on the board is to cheerlead any fundraising efforts for the camp,” said Williams. “The camp’s mission is to ensure no child is turned away because of cost – and over the 10+ years I’ve been involved, we’ve provided $175,000 in scholarships and have never turned a child away.”
