Recognizing Athletic and Academic Success

Savanna Holt of West Friendship, MD has completed her sophomore year at Howard Community College (HCC) with numerous athletic and academic accolades. Holt, the granddaughter of Revere Bank’s HL Ward, has received awards and from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and has also been recognized by the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference as a First Team All-MD Junior College (JUCO) athlete for soccer and lacrosse.

Holt was awarded first team honors on the 2016 NSCAA Junior College Division III Women’s All-American Team. Holt was one of 24 female athletes recognized in the Junior College Division III Women’s Soccer category for her outstanding play as a forward for the Howard Dragons. She was honored at the Annual 2017 NSCAA Convention in Los Angeles this past January.

In addition to her NSCAA honor, Holt was named to the 2016-2017 Maryland Junior College First Team All-Conference Women’s Soccer Team as well as the First Team All-Region XX Division III. Additionally, Holt received honors for her success in the classroom with her 2016 NJCAA Scholar All-American Player award.

Holt continued her athletic success into the spring where she was named to the 2017 All-MD JUCO First Team for Women’s Lacrosse.

In the fall, Holt will attend the University of Maryland where she will complete her bachelor’s degree at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Holt intends to continue her athletic career on the club soccer and lacrosse teams for UMD.
