Partnerships that Matter: Fighting for Clean Waterways
The Potomac River impacts all DMV communities and residents in one way or another. Whether it’s walking along the Georgetown waterfront or kayaking in Great Falls, the Potomac River provides endless entertainment and resources for DMV residents, including a crucial source for clean drinking water. That’s why Potomac Conservancy’s mission is to advocate for the Potomac River to ensure it boasts clean drinking water, healthy lands and connected communities.
Revere Bank has been working with Potomac Conservancy for five years to support its mission.
After dissatisfaction working with a larger national bank, Hedrick Belin, Potomac Conservancy’s president, decided a local bank would be a better fit for his organization—and that’s when he found Revere.
“We were unhappy with the level of service and attention from our past bank – especially the bureaucratic processes we had to go through,” said Belin. “At Revere, the senior leadership we deal with cares about the community. They volunteer their time and expertise in the Silver Spring area where we’re based.”
With no resources to waste, Belin and his team rely on Revere to help maximize the organization’s finances.
“As a small nonprofit, we’re always looking at how we can, on the operations side, be more efficient so we can devote more resources to our clean water mission,” said Belin. “Revere has been very easy to work with on the banking services side. There’s not a lot of red tape or back and forth. The customer service and back-office support is outstanding.”
Belin also appreciates the personal service his team and organization receive from Revere.
“I feel like Revere is interested in how we’re doing, and they are always looking for ways they can be helpful to us,” Belin added. “Revere is very customer focused and is open to having good conversations about where we’re heading and how they can help. I’m incredibly positive about our feelings and relationship with Revere – and it’s not just me, but all our staff who interact with Revere. I never hear any gripes or complaints, and that was not the case before we made the switch.”
One of the aspects Belin likes best about working with the Revere team is their charitable side.
“The staff we interact with at Revere understand our mission and are proud to not just be another B2B relationship – but a charitable relationship,” said Belin.
