Partnerships that Matter: On the Fast Track to Success with Autobahn Speedway

Fast cars and speedways don’t usually go hand-in-hand with banking, but in the case of Revere Bank and Autobahn Indoor Speedway, banking made a group of entrepreneurs’ speedway dreams a reality.

David Larson, managing partner of Autobahn Indoor Speedway (a European-style indoor go-karting facility), found Revere while looking for financing to open a new Maryland Autobahn location, one of seven locations across the country.

Larson and the Autobahn team were having trouble finding the right bank to provide financing at the beginning of their project. At one point, they thought they might have to abandon the project altogether. Then, Larson was introduced to Revere.

“Revere came in and took the time to learn our business and project goals,” said Larson. “Our relationship manager [at the bank], Ken Williams, was very hands on. We talked to him about our different ideas and goals, and he took the time to understand and give us feedback so we could position our project correctly. A lot of banks want to say no—Revere finds a way to say yes.”

Larson comes from a family of entrepreneurs that started with his dad and now has been passed along to him and his brothers. He understands the difficulties small business owners have finding funding for projects, but said that he was pleasantly surprised with how few hurdles he had to jump while working with Revere.

“Revere develops solutions that fit our needs without having to get tied up in the bureaucracy of the super big banks,” said Larson. “Revere is one of the easiest banks to work with that I’ve ever encountered.”

Larson also noted how Revere has helped his business in ways other than just lending and lauded the bank’s ability to find solutions to fit his business’ needs.

“Revere has also helped us with cash management, which has improved the efficiencies of our internal processes,” added Larson. “With some of our ideas, we thought Revere might not be able to help us because they are a smaller bank—but they’ve put a solution together for everything we’ve presented.”

Larson has worked with a number of other banks, but found Revere’s service superior to all of them.

“There’s not another bank I would recommend more highly than Revere Bank,” said Larson.
