NACHA – Electronic Payments Association


As an Originator of electronic payments through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network and Online Banking application, we want to ensure your continued understanding and compliance with all of the Operating Rules regarding your payments.

The National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) Operating Rules are updated annually. You should consult the ACH Rules for all pertinent Originator obligations.

Obtain access to the ACH Operating Rules by going to NACHA’s website at and follow the directions below (IMPORTANT! Please print the directions below as you will be taken to a new web page):

  • From the homepage ( on the blue bar at the top, click on NACHA OPERATING RULES, then click on NACHA Operating Rules from the drop-down list.   You may also click on the “Updates and Upcoming Changes” to view any rule changes.
  • Scroll down and click on VIEW THE RULES ►
  • Under New Account – Click on the BASIC USER link “Users without a 12 digit serial # who can get read only access”.  On the next page, input your contact information.  Be sure to input a unique Username and Password that you will remember.  The Access Level should default to Basic Access.  If not, click on the radio button next to this option. Click the Continue box.  On the next page, input your Business Information and click the Non-Member box for Affiliation.  Click the Continue box.  On the next page, click the Finish box.
