J. Stephen McAuliffe, III, is a principal with the firm of Miles & Stockbridge (www.milesstockbridge.com) in Rockville, MD. He was formerly a law clerk for the Honorable William C. Miller of the Montgomery County Circuit Court and an assistant county attorney for Montgomery County. His practice is in general civil litigation with an emphasis in commercial litigation. He has extensive experience in the Trial and Appellate Courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Additionally, he acts as outside general counsel for a diverse group of businesses based in Montgomery County, including large, publicly traded corporations. Mr McAuliffe is admitted to the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1988 from the Washington College of Law at American University. He graduated from Washington College, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, in 1985.
Mr. McAuliffe is a member, American Bar Association and Montgomery County Bar Association. He serves as Legal Counsel and as an ex-officio member of the Board of Governors, Christ Episcopal School. Mr. McAuliffe is a Director, Montgomery College Foundation, and a trustee of the Rockville Academy. He is a member of the Rockville Rotary Club and serves on the Rotary Club Foundation’s Board of Directors. In addition, he serves on the Washington College Presidents Council.
