Best Buddies Maryland Awards Revere Bank’s Ken Cook with Community Champion Award
Best Buddies Maryland awarded Ken Cook, Revere Bank co-president and CEO, and his wife, Julie, the Community Champion Award for their years of support to the organization. The award was presented on Saturday, May 4 at the Best Buddies Friendship Walk held at the University of Maryland’s Xfinity Center.
Since 2012 the Cooks have been supporting Best Buddies, a nonprofit organization that creates one-on-one friendship and employment opportunities for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cook currently serves on the organization’s D.C. Metro Advisory Board.
“It’s been a privilege to be involved with Best Buddies. This organization and its programs make life-changing impacts for so many,” said Cook. “I’m honored to be recognized by Best Buddies and look forward to continuing to be involved with the great work they do for years to come.”
Revere employees have been supporting the organization since 2015 and have raised more than $40,000 over the past three years for the organization. This year, the Revere team participated in the Walk along with more than 1,300 walkers who raised close to $300,000 for the cause.
